Send Cards to an Existing Board#34

Instead of creating a new board from the selection of cards, allow users to send those cards to an existing board.

How can you not have this feature in a PKM app? Form and reform ideas is core to PKM - that means not being limited by boards?

When reconsidering grouping of cards relating to some idea this is a standard task for me: some cards e.g. should “belong” to another cluster too -> adding(=sending) to another board, or don’t belong to this one -> moving them there (=removing them from current board).
UI could be as simple as implementing Copy/Cut & Paste for boards.

Gonna really reiterate this one. Being able to send a table to a board, for example, would provide a lot of utility. Just made one in my desk and now will manually do it again in the relevant board.

The lack of simple move/send and copy/paste/duplicate card functions are a severe limitation to my workflow.

I would like to add a nuance here. Rather than “send the card” I would like to “add the card” to a board (remotely). Send would mean the card would disappear from wherever I am now, whereas add means the card will only be added to the other board without leaving its current place.

Why not say “copy card to” instead, which erases all doubt.

I would like to have this feature in addition to creating a new board with selected cards.

And exactly to have opportunity to send a card to antoher board. I don’t want to duplicate cards on multiple boards.

For those who need another copy it can be duplicated right on the board and send to another board while being deleted on current board.

As sometimes you need to move the card to another board and sometimes make just a copy there, how about “Copy/Move to board” and in the board picking dialogue have a toggle/option box/whatever to select move or copy? I mean, it works well when right-clicking an Excel sheet tab… Of course, there simply could be two items in menu but I suspect we are trying to avoid that. Or maybe not.

It seems strange to me I can’t add a card, on the fly to a board. For instance if I am creating a new card and click “+” and I want to add it to my “Ethics” board, I add see that I can add the board linking to the card, but the card doesn’t automatically show up on that board, very strange. I have to drag/drop the card to the specific board’s page to add the card. am I missing something?

Hello, How can I move a card to another project?

I’m not sure why adding an existing board to another board points to adding cards to a board but ok, I’ll add my comment here.

Here’s the thought flow:
I’m reviewing cards, I create a board with a subset as a way to provide a detailed drill down. I organize, massage, tend my board into perfection.

I realize that this newly perfected board would fit nicely on a yet higher level board. (higher level in my thought process)

Hmmm, I can create a new board on the higher level board but I can’t add an existing board? I try adding a link but that is a hack.

I try searching for help and end up here.
