Create Bidirectional Links with Drag-n-Drop#62

V

i.e. pulling a card over another can create a link.
– reason behind this: have some easier / frictionless way to create links btw. cards that do not require going via ‘+’ and typing… link-creation more like a breeze’ :-)

[addendum]
this would logically entail the possibility for the reverse option: dragging a card onto an already linked card unlinks them

Or select cards and right click for that option, as an alternative.

Hey @Vision @Uschi Uschinski Thanks for the comments! I like both options to be honest! Can you tell what type of notes you take (and connect)? What type of notes you need to see all at once on your desk/ board

hey @Daiana Noemi Moyano – good question!
But also a tough one!
That’s mainly because I use all kinds of logics and ontologies – and even those change from board to board as tje function / reference logic of a given board changed according to purpose (one reason I am asking for a way to ‘infividualize’ boards spatial logic in some open / flexible form; see #81 )

… but maybe it’s better to answer the other way round: I particularly want / need this kind of easy / instant linking (via drag-n-drop) in exactly the opposite situation: whenever I want to quickly mark a relation that seem imminent / relevant – and only afterwards decide what specificslly that is (type – token; condition - outcome; process; generational offspring relation; association; subject - notes / feature / …) …

Otherwise of course I fancy making very quick drag-n-drop connections, once any such logic is already in place & I just add instances.

– Does that make sense to you?

– PS / BTW & for transparency: vision = lerone

this FR would logically entail the possibility for the reverse option too: dragging a card onto an already linked card unlinks them

Hey all, I like this idea! I was just about to post to create it and found this already is here :) – here is an example use case:

I like this idea too. It is a basic and intuitive functionality that exists in Scapple, for example. And I was wondering whether the same thing could be implimented in the free text boxes. Sometimes I don’t need an entire card, just a text reminder, and it would be good to be able to establish links to other text boxes or to fully fleged cards.

We just released Visually Linking Cards (#55). This should help achieve a similar result as described in this feature request, although with a slightly different mechanics.

There’s a similar but different idea here that we split into a new feature request: “Drag Card(s) into Another Card’s Content” #307. Please vote for that request if that’s why you voted for this feature request.
